Power forward Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Indios de San Francisco, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Leones (#7, 0-1) with 19-point margin 108-89. Thanks to this victory Indios moved-up to the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. LNB. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Indios won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Ferreiras just recently signed at Indios and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Luismal Ferreiras has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.0ppg. Ferreiras is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.0rpg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 83.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Indios' star - young American Charles Brown Jr. (198-F-1997). Brown Jr. had a very good evening with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course together with Ferreiras he helped Indios de San Francisco with another comfortable win 108-89 over Leones (0-1) being unquestionably team leader. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Brown Jr. is one of the most experienced players at Indios and similarly like Luismal Ferreiras has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 4.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Anderson Mirambeaux (203-F-1999) of Reales de La Vega (#4). Mirambeaux scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Reales, leading his team to a 105-102 win against Caneros (#6, 0-1). Reales has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Mirambeaux also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Mirambeaux as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

10. Eloy Vargas (211-C-1988) of Heroes - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
